GIS Project developed for state and federal agencies dealing with archaeology. It would assist archaeologists to search different maps for resources, submit their proposal for study of the land and would assist the state, federal and sponsoring agency to monitor the progress of the project. Implemented Service Oriented Architecture. Coded authentication and Single Sign On module using Phaos SAML toolkit. Explored the benefits of converting existing VB application to Java Application. Designed the server side of the application that handled client written in any language. Architected and designed, such that any part of the site could be modified. Designed a rules based engine which became the heart of the application. Designed a java-based cache LRU cache system. Designed and implemented a hybrid of role-based (RBAC) and type enforcement access control mechanism. Optimized heap size, garbage collection and memory management using JProbe.
